Abstrak

This study aims to examine the impact of character education in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum on the formation of good morals in students. The background of this study is rooted in moral and ethical issues that arise in Indonesia, including the problem of juvenile delinquency and corruption practices, where character education is seen as a possible solution. Character education has an important position in shaping the younger generation, so that they are not only academically intelligent but also have good morals, especially when facing the challenges of globalization. Although PAI has great potential in character formation through an integrated curriculum, its implementation still faces obstacles such as the lack of integration of values in the material, less interactive learning methods, the role of teachers that is not optimal, and evaluations that tend to be cognitive. This study uses a literature study method by analyzing various sources such as scientific articles and relevant books to explore the concept of character education, the PAI curriculum, the formation of good morals, and the influence of the integration of character education in it. The results of the literature review indicate that the effective implementation of character education in the PAI curriculum has significant potential in forming students' good morals through increasing understanding of values, forming positive attitudes and behaviors, and strengthening moral and spiritual identity.
