The ability to think critically is one of the important competencies that need to be developed in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI), in line with the demands of high-level thinking skills in the curriculum. One of the learning models that have the potential to support the development of these capabilities is the jigsaw-type cooperative learning model. This article aims to examine the implementation of jigsaw learning model in improving critical thinking skills of learners in Pai learning. This study uses library research method by reviewing various library sources in the form of books, scientific articles, and previous research results that are relevant to cooperative learning, jigsaw models, and critical thinking in the context of Education. The results showed that the jigsaw learning model has characteristics that support the development of critical thinking, such as cooperation in heterogeneous groups, individual responsibility, positive interdependence, and discussion activities and exchange of ideas. Through the process of learning as an "expert" and relaying the material to group members, learners are encouraged to analyze, evaluate, and construct understanding in more depth. Thus, the implementation of Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model can be a strategic alternative in PAI learning to improve students ' critical thinking skills. The findings of this study are expected to be a conceptual foundation for educators in designing Pai learning that is more participatory and oriented to the development of high-level thinking skills.
